This is a wonderful, ...

This is a wonderful, cozy, classic hotel that is very convenient to all in the Old City of Philadelphia. It adds to the experience of visiting the area. You can easily stroll to all the sites along with many eateries. The staff is very helpful and warm at the front desk, in the breakfast area and the cleaning staff as well. The room was very clean, bear in mind that this is a converted building from over 125 years ago so if you are looking for a larger sleek room, this may not be to your taste, this is a good 'city-sized', cozy room that is well appointed and includes a fridge. The lobby is a traditionally decorated, cozy meeting area with tables for board games, refreshments that are readily available and a fireplace adds to the ambiance. There is a classic sweeping staircase ascending from the lobby too(there is an elevator also but it's nicely tucked away to the side). I had been here ten years ago when the kids were little and this time I was back with my husband . What an enjoyable stay, I will be back, and, in far less than ten years...

I used to live ...

I used to live in Old City for many years and now come back monthly to visit. This is the only place I stay. Small boutique hotel with clean rooms and great service. Excellent breakfast in the morning. No bar. No banquet rooms. No conferences. No weddings. If you’re looking for a quiet place to sleep that is in the heart of the historic district, this is the place.
