First Impressions are the ...

First Impressions are the Strongest. I believe Google Reviews are an important part of a person’s research when planning a trip. This review is for anyone thinking about staying at Independence Park Hotel. Our flight landed at PHL around 2:00pm on Thursday May 7, 2026. We arrived at this hotel around 2:45pm. When I went to the front desk to check in I was told that Check In was not until 4:00pm. He then said we could pay an Early Check In Fee if we wanted to check now. I asked if he had a place we could store our luggage until we checked in and he said yes. We went down the street to get something to quick to eat because we had a couple of tours booked for the afternoon and evening. While we ate I checked my email from Independence Park Hotel and their check in time is 3:00pm not 4:00pm as we were told. It was definitely a bad first impression when the first person we talked to working at the hotel tells us the wrong check in time and attempts to squeeze a little more money from us because we arrived 15 minutes early. The hotel didn’t refund us any money when we checked out of both rooms 3 hours early. Google limits there reviews to only a few words. Had we had a better first experience with this hotel, we could have gone into greater detail about the many positive aspects of the hotel and everyone else that works there. The rooms are small. Our group stayed in rooms 202 and 502.

This is a lovely ...

This is a lovely historic property. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The only draw back is the entry has no handrail for the large step leading into the property.
