Front desk service excellent ...

Front desk service excellent and rooms are nice. In the end I kind of feel unsatisfied though with my experience. Front doors are locked at 9pm which prevented me from experiencing the night life around the area. Was looking forward to trying the breakfast and was told breakfast ends at 10am. I checked out at 9am, go downstairs to just the coffee machine and coffee still there, the whole counter looked as if everything was taken away already. Understandable to start putting stuff away early but almost an hour early? I just feel like i couldnt experience what I traveled to Philadelphia and booked this hotel for.

This was a great ...

This was a great hotel and we'll be back! It's conveniently located in Old City, within reasonable walking distance to Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and a huge variety of restaurants and cafes. The rooms have been beautifully updated and although they are small, the space is well used and I didn't feel cramped. The complimentary breakfast is pretty minimal, but they still had a good variety of options: fruit, yogurt, pastries, and Liberty Bell waffles (my nieces' favorite part of our whole Philly trip!) Every single staff member we came in contact with was friendly and accommodating. I think my only real complaint was the hotel and general area around the hotel are not super kid-friendly. It's a historic building, granted, but our stroller literally didn't fit through the front door. Parking is a couple blocks away (which is typical in the city), which isn't super ideal with kids. Also not a lot of kid friendly cuisine directly around the hotel - it requires a bit of a walk, which is hard when the streets are busy and you have hungry kiddos. Other than that, we loved our stay and we'd just prepare a little better next time to accommodate the needs of our younger travel pals.
